Thailand DTV visa requirements: document checklist

First choose the DTV application route

The official e-Visa category groups DTV around workcation, Thai soft-power activities and eligible dependents. The evidence you need depends on which route fits your case and on the mission that processes the application.

• Workcation: digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer evidence.
• Thai soft power: evidence of the qualifying activity or treatment, such as acceptance by the organizer or an appointment letter.
• Dependent: a separate application supported by the main DTV holder’s details and proof of the family relationship.

Core file to prepare

• Passport or travel document and a clear biodata-page copy; check the validity period required by the mission.
• A recent photograph that matches the application specifications.
• The online application form and any document showing where you currently reside or are legally present, if requested.
• Financial evidence. An MFA-hosted checklist gives a three-month bank-statement example with at least 500,000 THB, but its other local requirements show why you must confirm the exact list for your application location.
• Documents supporting the chosen DTV purpose, plus English or Thai translations if the mission requires them.

Add evidence for your purpose

• For workcation, prepare evidence such as an employment contract or certificate, employer or company details, income records, or a professional portfolio. A mission may specify which combinations it accepts.
• For Thai soft-power activities, prepare confirmation from the course, organizer, clinic or hospital that matches the activity you will undertake.
• For a spouse or child, prepare the main holder’s DTV and identity details plus marriage, birth or other relationship records. Check whether copies, translations or legalizations are required.

Apply and check the last-mile details

The official e-Visa flow is account, application, document upload, fee payment, processing and email confirmation. The platform says applications are assessed by the relevant Thai embassy or consulate, which may request an interview or more documents; submitting does not guarantee approval and fees are non-refundable.

• The e-Visa notice says applicants must be outside Thailand when applying through that system.
• Check file formats, size limits, translation rules, proof of current location and appointment requirements on the selected mission’s current page.
• Do not reuse an old checklist or assume a document requirement from another country applies to you.
